Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026 · Applies to the Vedic Bhavishya app and website

In short. We ask for your birth details so we can work out your chart, and nothing more than the app needs. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or sites. Payments are handled by Google Play, so we never see your card or UPI details. You can delete your account and data at any time, inside the app or from this website.

1. Who we are and what this covers

This policy explains how Vedic Bhavishya ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the Vedic Bhavishya mobile app (the "App"), this website, and our support channels (together, the "Service"). For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary: we decide why and how your personal data is processed.

Vedic Bhavishya, Gurukrupa, Naupada, Thane West, Maharashtra 400602, India · support@vedicbhavishya.com · +91-9930627060.

By using the Service you confirm that you have read this policy. Where the law requires your consent for something we describe here, we ask for it in the App at the moment it matters (for example before you turn on reminders or sign in), and you can withdraw it at any time as described in section 9.

2. What we collect

2.1 What you give us

DataWhy we need it
Your name (first name is enough)To greet you and personalise readings and reports.
Birth date, birth time (optional) and birth place, including the coordinates of the place you pickTo calculate your birth chart (Moon sign, ascendant, nakshatra, planetary positions, dasha periods). Without these there is no reading. If you don't know your birth time you can say so, and we use a reduced chart.
Gender and whether you are married (asked when you set up, and editable in Profile)Traditional Guna Milan scoring uses gender; both help us choose which suggestions and banners to show you (for example we do not promote marriage reports to people who are married).
People you add in Match: their name, gender, birth date, time and placeTo compute compatibility and, if you buy them, Match and Kundli reports for that person, and to bring them back if you sign in on another phone. See section 2.5.
Questions you ask in Ask, and the answers you receiveTo answer you, to show your conversation history, to keep the question balance you bought correct, and to check quality, safety and misuse. See sections 2.8 and 4.
Preferences: language, reading style, morning-reminder time, and (optionally) the city where you live nowTo show the App in your language and style, send the reminder you asked for, and time Rahu Kaal and sunrise for where you are. We never read your phone's GPS; you type or pick a city.
Support messages: what you write to us and your email, name and phone if you give themTo answer you, fix problems, and keep a record of requests (including data-rights and deletion requests).

2.2 Your account

When you first open the App we create an anonymous account automatically: a random ID with no name or email attached. If you choose Sign in with Google (we ask before you ask a question, buy something or save someone in Match, so that your purchases, questions and saved people survive a phone change or sign-out), we receive your Google account's name, email address and account ID from Google. We never receive your Google password.

2.3 Purchases

Payments are taken by Google Play. We do not receive your card, UPI or bank details. On Google Play receipts, your bank or UPI statement and other payment records, the payee may appear as Miss Zigzag, the business account that receives payments for Vedic Bhavishya. Our purchase partner RevenueCat and our own servers receive a record of what you bought: the product, price, time, transaction/order identifier, status, and your anonymous or Google-linked account ID. We use this to unlock what you paid for, restore it on a new phone, resolve payment problems and meet accounting and tax duties.

2.4 Content we generate for you

Daily, weekly and monthly readings, your free Kundli, and any reports you buy (for example Advanced Kundli, Year Ahead, Marriage & Timing, Career, Sade Sati, Match) are generated from your chart and stored against your account so you can open them again without paying twice. Shared "segment" readings (one per Moon sign and ascendant combination) are generic and are not tied to you personally.

2.5 Other people's details

If you add someone in Match, you are giving us their personal data. Please add only people who know and are comfortable with it (or for whom you are lawfully entitled to do so, such as your child or a family member you act for). We use their details only to produce the results you asked for. The people you add are saved to your account (which needs you to sign in), so they come back if you sign in on another phone; removing someone deletes their details from your phone and from your account. If you bought a report for them, that report stays in your account (so that adding them again restores it without paying twice) until you delete your account, when it is erased with everything else. They can also ask us to erase their data by writing to us (section 9).

2.6 Technical data

  • Push notification token, only if you allow notifications and keep the morning reminder on, so that we can deliver the reminder and occasional announcements (see sections 5 and 11). The token is removed when you turn the reminder off or sign out.
  • App and device basics sent with requests: app version, language, and the standard technical information any server sees, including your IP address and request time, held in our providers' security and error logs for a limited period.
  • Website: this website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Our fonts are served from our own site. The Contact form sends what you type (and a one-way, salted hash of your IP address, used only to limit spam). Our web host keeps ordinary server logs.

2.7 What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, phone number (unless you write it to us), precise location, advertising ID, or payment card details. The App contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

2.8 Ask conversations and who can read them

The questions you type in Ask and the answers are stored in your account so your conversation is still there next time. They can contain personal details if you write them. Our team does not read conversations routinely. A member of our team may open a conversation only to help with a support request or a payment or credit problem, to look into an answer you or someone else reported, to check the quality and safety of the feature, or to investigate misuse or fraud. Each time a conversation is opened, it is recorded in a staff access log. Please do not put sensitive details (such as health, financial or identity numbers) in your questions.

3. How we use your data

  • To calculate your chart and produce readings, Kundli, Match and reports (providing the service you asked for).
  • To personalise the App: greeting, language, suggestions and banners chosen from your own chart (for example a Sade Sati note if you are in that phase). These suggestions come from your own chart; they are not sold or shared with advertisers.
  • To process purchases, unlock and restore what you bought, and handle refunds and payment disputes.
  • To send the reminder you asked for, and occasional announcements and greetings (for example festival wishes) to phones that have notifications on. We send no promotional emails or messages by SMS.
  • To respond to support, grievance, data-rights and deletion requests.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix errors.
  • To meet legal obligations (tax, accounting, responding to lawful orders).
  • To understand aggregate demand, for example which Moon-sign combinations are common so we can prepare readings in advance. This is not profiling of individuals.

Our legal basis is your consent (given when you enter your details and use the features) and the legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows, such as complying with the law and responding to your request. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Artificial intelligence and your data

Your chart is calculated by our own astronomical code (planetary positions, Lahiri ayanamsa, Vimshottari dasha, panchang). To turn those facts into readable text, we send them to a large language model, Claude, provided by Anthropic, through Anthropic's business API.

  • What is sent: chart-derived facts (signs, nakshatras, planetary positions, dasha periods, compatibility scores) and, for personalised reports, your first name, and for Match reports the two names, so the text can address you properly. For Ask, we also send the question you typed and the most recent messages of that conversation, so the answer makes sense. For the shared daily, weekly and monthly readings, only the Moon-sign/ascendant combination and the day's sky are sent, with no personal data.
  • What is not sent: your email, Google account details, phone number, payment information or account ID.
  • Training: under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models. We rely on that commitment as of the date of this policy.
  • Reporting an answer: under every Ask answer there is a “Report this answer” link. It sends us that question and answer so we can review it.
  • Accuracy: AI-written text can contain mistakes or awkward wording, and astrology is interpretive by nature. Readings are for guidance and reflection, not professional medical, legal or financial advice. See our Terms.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use these service providers ("processors"), who handle data only on our behalf and for the purposes below:

ProviderWhat forData involvedLocation

We may also disclose information when the law requires it (for example a lawful order from a court or authority), or to protect our rights, users or the public from fraud or harm, sharing only what is necessary. If the business is ever sold or merged, your data would move to the new owner subject to this policy, and we would tell you first.

6. Transfers outside India

Some providers above process data outside India, mainly in the United States. The DPDP Act permits this except to countries the Government of India has restricted. We choose established providers with contractual data-protection commitments, and we send them only what is needed for the task.

7. How long we keep data

DataHow long
Profile, birth details, saved people, generated readings and reportsWhile your account exists. If you delete your account, it is switched off immediately and permanently erased after 30 days (or sooner if you ask). During those 30 days you can restore it by signing in again with the same Google account.
Purchase and transaction recordsKept after erasure, with the link to your account removed and any birth details inside the record replaced by an unreadable code, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally several years).
Ask questions and answersWhile your account exists; erased with it (within the same 30 days).
Staff access log (when a conversation or account was opened, and changes made to credits or reports)Up to 24 months, without the content of the conversation.
Support, grievance and deletion requestsUp to 24 months after the request is closed, or longer if the law requires (for example proof that we honoured a deletion request).
Push tokenUntil you turn reminders off, sign out, or delete your account (or until the notification service tells us it is no longer valid).
Server and security logsA short period set by our providers (typically weeks), then overwritten.
BackupsCopies of erased data disappear as our database provider's backups rotate.

If you never sign in and simply stop using the App, your anonymous account's data stays until you delete it, so please delete it if you no longer want us to hold it.

8. How we protect it

All traffic between the App, this website and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to the database is restricted per user by row-level security, so one account cannot read another's records; secret keys are kept on the server, never in the App; payment details never touch our systems; and access by our team is limited to what is needed. Our internal admin tools require a Google sign-in from an authorised account, and what staff do with personal data (such as opening a conversation, or changing a balance or report) is logged. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

9. Your rights and how to use them

Under the DPDP Act you can:

  • Know and access what personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
  • Correct or update it. Most of it you can edit yourself in the App (Profile).
  • Erase it. Use Profile → Delete account in the App, or the Delete account page on this website.
  • Withdraw consent, for example by turning off reminders, signing out, or deleting your account. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before, and some features cannot work without your birth details.
  • Grievance redressal: complain to us first (section 13). If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or cannot act.

To use any right, use the Contact page or email support@vedicbhavishya.com. We may ask you to confirm it is you (for example by replying from the Google email linked to the account) so that nobody can access or delete another person's data. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. If you live outside India and local law gives you further rights, we will honour them where they apply.

10. Children

The Service is for people aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Notifications and marketing

The App sends the morning reading reminder you switch on and, occasionally (a few times a month at most), an announcement or a greeting such as festival wishes. Both go to phones that have notifications allowed. To stop all of them, turn the reminder off in Profile or switch notifications off in your phone's settings. We send no promotional emails, SMS or WhatsApp messages. If we ever send marketing of a different kind we will ask for separate consent first.

The App and website may link to services we don't control (Google Play, for example). Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.

13. Grievance Officer and contact

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the DPDP Act, our Grievance Officer is:

Grievance Officer, Vedic Bhavishya
Gurukrupa, Naupada, Thane West, Maharashtra 400602, India
Email: support@vedicbhavishya.com · Phone: +91-9930627060
We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App changes or the law requires. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, tell you in the App. Where the law requires fresh consent, we will ask for it.

15. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. See our Terms of Use for how disputes are handled.
